Overview
Africa’s first high-speed line runs from Casablanca to Tangier, and it changes what is possible in a day. What would be three and a half hours of motorway becomes just over two hours on the train, which buys back most of an afternoon at the other end.
You are taken to Casa Voyageurs station, met again on arrival in Tangier, and driven around the city and the cape before the evening train back. Cape Spartel is where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean; the Caves of Hercules are ten minutes further on, with their famous opening shaped like the map of Africa.
